Fire Breaks Out At Cricketer Sreesanth’s House in Kerala; Wife & Children Rescued

At the time of the incident, the cricketer was not at home which led to a panic situation for the family however, no injuries were reported

In an unfortunate turn of events, a fire broke out at the house of cricketer S Sreesanth in the wee hours of Saturday. According to reports an entire room was destroyed in the fire which occurred at 2 am. The fire broke out at Sreesanth’s Kochi residence that had a hall and a bedroom of the house gutted in it. Fire force units from Thrikkakkara and Gandhi Nagar rushed to the spot and doused the fire. According to a report in Indianexpress.com, at the time of the incident, the cricketer was not at home which led to a panic situation for the family however, no injuries were reported. His wife and two kids along with two house help were home on the first floor when the fire broke out. The team of fire-fighters who reached the spot rescued the family by breaking-in the glass door on the first floor of the house through the stairway. The BCCI banned Sreesanth, who is now 36, for life in August 2013 along with his Rajasthan Royals teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan for indulging in alleged spot-fixing in the IPL of that year. In an order passed on August 7, BCCI Ombudsman D K Jain ordered that S Sreesanth's ban for alleged spot-fixing will end next August, observing that the cricketer is well past his prime having already served six years.
