A day before the Jharkhand State Cricket Association's (JSCA) elections, a shocking revelation raised questions about JSCA cricket administrators, not showing basic courtesy to the most decorated Indian cricket team captain in his home town, Ranchi. India cricketing icon MS Dhoni hasn't been able to find a place in JSCA life member's list.
JSCA has 653 individual life members including 40 domestic/ international cricketers of Jharkhand, housewives , businessmen, ex policemen, common cricket fans. Surprisingly, Jharkhand's very own, MS Dhoni, hasn't been able to find a place in JSCA life member's list.
Dhoni's name is present in the honorary member's list but as per JSCA rules, this doesn't entitle him of voting rights or have a say in any decision making process. This issue has become huge and opposition lobby, along with common life members are strongly protesting against it.
According to sources, Dhoni wants to become a life member but the current administrators have not shown any keen interest in the matter. Dhoni couldn't have voted despite having a life membership. As per the new rule, a cricketer can only vote 5 years after retirement. While the opposition said Dhoni still not been given a life membership is a shame, president of the association, Kuldeep Singh, defended the association by saying that they will enroll Dhoni as a life member, very soon.
