"I Didn't Announce Anything": Chris Gayle To Stay Around, 'Until Further Notice'

In a short video message, posted by Windies Cricket on Twitter, Gayle has mad it clear that he isn't retiring soon and will stay around, 'until further notice'

In what many fans speculated to be his last ODI for the West Indies, Universe Boss Chris Gayle smashed his way to a 72-run knock, leading the hosts to a competitive 240/7  in the rain-curtailed match after they elected to bat. Soon after his dismissal, the Indian players rushed towards Gayle, shaking hands with him. Kohli even performed typical Gayle jig before the burly West Indian walked off. Gayle, in his inimitable style, put his helmet on the top of his bat's handle and lifted the bat in the air while walking off. Near the boundary ropes, he hurled the helmet in the air only to catch it back. The gestures suggested that Gayle has played his last ODI. However, in a short video message, posted by Windies Cricket on Twitter, Gayle has mad it clear that he isn't retiring soon and will stay around, until further notice as he said, "I didn't announce anything...any retirement". The Windies selectors kept their emotions aside and decided to ignore Chris Gayle for the Tests vs India. So, the third ODI could be the last time that the beloved opener is seen in Windies colours. During a press conference in WC 2019, Gayle had hinted that he would retire from international cricket after home Test series against India in August-September, but it seems that the flamboyant batsman has got much more cricket left in him and has decided to stay around, 'until further notice'.
